South West Hound Club Open Show 2018 Critique

Many thanks to exhibitors for supporting this entry on a predictably busy and dreary bank holiday.

Special Yearling Dog or Bitch (1,0)

1. Lewis’s  – Greyhawks Romanie Mishto of Luckhurst
A well developed young dog of balanced angulation and pleasing proportions. Elegant head but retaining masculinity, lovely coat and strong loin with excellent topline.  Good spring of rib with depth and length to chest.  Balanced stride even on the slippery surface.  Confident and unphased.  Needs to firm a little still but overall a very nice dog with lots of potential. BOB

Open Dog (1,0)

1. Lewis’s – Luckhurst Paisley
A large, masculine dog with wonderful coat, neat ears and very strong neck.  Tight knuckled feet and good width both front and rear.  Was uncomfortable with the ring surface which hampered movement.  Would have liked greater rear angulation.

Open Bitch (2,0)

1. Wragg’s – Neroche Juno
Well developed and feminine bitch with lovely head, ears and expression.  Long, strong and elegant neck.  Good width at rear falling to lovely long tail. Unfortunately was also uncomfortable on the ring surface, moving with difficulty and losing topline as a result.  RBOB

2. Paisey’s - Pharcourse Jaz
A lovely veteran lady who remained confident in the ring; still moving with drive and enthusiasm.  Excellent coat and wonderful head and expression and retaining strong loin.
